Environment impact on Mures water quality. Chemical parameters evaluation

Daniela Ceană, Monica Tarcea, Simona Szasz, Ramona Ureche

Abstract:

Aim: Evaluation of environment pollution impact on Mures river water quality, between 2004-2006, from Ungheni sampling point in Mureş county. Methodes: Data were collected from Aquaserv water quality test Laboratory and all water samples were analyzed using water regulation test. Results: We observed high levels of nitrites, salts and suspension residues in Ungheni , due to the main Mures river pollution sources like AZOMUREŞ S.A., BICAPA S.A. economic units and also other sources downstream Târgu Mureş. Total sediments average concentrations from Mures river water have a significant increase because of excavation sources. We observed though an improvement in water purification in the latest years at most of the economical units involved. Conclusion: Chemical parameters tested showed us that Mures river water can be included as class II water quality, meaning a good quality water.
