Immunochemical diagnostic of monoclonal gammaphaties

Ileana Funduc

Abstract:

The monoclonal gammapathies constitute a group of disorders characterized by the proliferation of a single clone of plasma cells that produces a homogenous monoclonal protein („M”-protein). A wide variety of techniques are available for the screening characterization and quantification of monoclonal proteins. After the enumeration of the diseases in which a monoclonal protein should be analyzed, the optimal sequence of immunochemical testing to diagnose and monitor these patients with the most effective laboratory analyses methods is described.
